1. Parties
“Safe Naija”, “we”, “us” means Safe City Technologies, IIPS Office, 150 Ikorodu Rd., Onipanu, Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria. “You” means the individual or organisation using the services.
2. Covered products
- Safe Naija (
ng.uatech.security) — Citizens, families, communities, businesses, schools and institutions - Safe Naija Guard (
ng.uatech.privatesecurity) — Private security companies and field responders - Safe Naija Patrol (
ng.uatech.federalpolice) — Police officers and dispatch operators authorised by their command - Safe Naija Command (
ng.uatech.state_agency) — State command-and-control and authorised state security responders - Website and related APIs at
safecity.com.ng
3. Licence
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the apps for their intended safety and security purposes, subject to these terms and any agency or company policies that apply to your account.
4. Accounts
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials secure.
- Phone-authenticated accounts are tied to the verified number.
- Organisation, police and state accounts may be provisioned or revoked by an administrator.
- You are responsible for activity under your account unless you promptly report compromise.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Trigger false SOS or abuse emergency workflows
- Harass, stalk, or unlawfully surveil others using the platform
- Attempt to access data or systems you are not authorised to use
- Reverse engineer, disrupt, or overload the services except as allowed by law
- Upload unlawful content or evidence obtained illegally
Responder apps are further subject to our responder acceptable use policy.
6. Emergency service disclaimer
Safe Naija is a coordination and alerting platform. It is not a substitute for dialling national emergency numbers where available, and it does not guarantee that help will arrive, arrive within a particular time, or that location / media capture will always succeed (for example due to network, GPS, battery, device permissions or third-party outages). 7. Organisation and agency customers
If you use Safe Naija on behalf of a company, estate, school, police command or state agency, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation. That organisation is responsible for user provisioning, lawful use of operational data, and compliance with its own policies and regulations.
8. Fees
Some plans or deployments are paid. Fees, trials and renewals will be described at signup or in a separate agreement. Unpaid accounts may be suspended.
9. Intellectual property
The apps, branding, software and documentation remain owned by Safe City Technologies or its licensors. You retain rights in content you lawfully submit, and grant us a licence to host and process it to operate the service.
10. Privacy
Personal data is handled as described in our privacy policy and the relevant app privacy page.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for breach, abuse, legal risk, or non-payment. You may stop using the apps and request account deletion via account deletion.
12. Disclaimers
The services are provided “as is” and “as available” to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Safe City Technologies is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill arising from use of the services. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the services is limited to the fees you paid us for the three (3) months preceding the claim (or NGN 50,000 if no fees were paid), except where liability cannot be limited by law (including death or personal injury caused by negligence where such limitation is prohibited).
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Safe City Technologies against claims arising from your unlawful use of the services, false alerts, or content you submit, except to the extent caused by our wilful misconduct.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Courts in Lagos State have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections.
16. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after the updated effective date constitutes acceptance, except where mandatory law requires a different process.
